Can vegetarians live happily in a world full of meat eaters?!

Question:

Can vegetarians live happily in a world full of meat eaters?

Answers:
I don't think they can Sister. They always seem kind of cranky to me. You'd be cranky too if you were white as a sheet and felt weak all the time,

im vegan and i live just fine being surrounded in a family of 5 ravenous meat eaters. you just have to think and know "they're the ones who are supporting animal cruelty--not me. and they're the ones who have a higher chance of heart disease, high cholestrol and a shorter life span."

sure can, I do!

change the "happily" to "healthier" the answer to this is very obvious YES!

i dont know...im sure they can but it might have a bit of an impact. For instance, my family actually discourages my vegetarianism. And it hurts like my soul....
but they have slowly learned not to annoy me. I have taught them.

you can be happy in any situation that you make the choice to be happy in... it's all in your attitude .. have been veggie for 10yrs now & live with meat eaters ...

yea sure.why wouldn't we because we don't eat meat there lots of places that have veg meals. Also it isn't hard to make a meat meal vegetarian friendly

yea, because my dad has been one since age 14!

Until the cows run out and we eat them.

Yeah, apparently so. I have a few friends who are vegan, and while it's kind of a pain for them to find food sometimes, they seem pretty content.

Yes, Absolutely. The key (I believe) is to not try to force your beliefs onto meat eaters. I am not a vegetarian or vegan and the animal rights groups drive me crazy because they are trying to force their beliefs onto us. I don't mind people saying that meat has high fat and cholesterol because it does have more than vegetables. Meat eaters that want to benefit healthwise can always choose lighter meats and eat less of it. But one thing for vegetarians to remember is that they need to be sure to get enough protein from other sources.

I consider myself a happy person!

yes. i am the ONLY vegetarian in my family. i am doing just fine exept for some critisizm. but it is easy.

living with meat eaters is fine but living in a world of idiots is hard

not if vegetarians don't respect my culture and live me alone because hunt animals and eat them. I'm Tatar and kuban cossack I was born on Kuban steppe. My family, my blood line has been living on this land for thousands and thousands of years. Living off the steppes hunting the antelope and boar, bears that roam here on horses for generation after generation. Than someone comes along and dishonors me family honor because i hunt animals and kill them. You expect me like like you vegetarian and vegans when come criticizes me saying hate animals and barbarian when love animals and be taught honor them when younger. I live in yurt and have generator satalight with laptop for prices rates and communication, soler panel and my guns is most high tech item i have, I sell fur and yak milk for money to companies. People like Peta than come dishonoring me, my life, my cultural and my home. I served two wars since was 16 to defend my home and kuban steppe like brotheren for me will not let anyone take my land or cultural away without fight to death

As long as they aren't like you.

yes

Yes Sister Margaret, they can...they don't have the worries of getting A-1 sauce on their clothes or other condiments that are associated with the eating of meat, which obviously saves money on wardrobe cleaning expenses. Nothing makes me madder than to bite into a hot dog loaded with ketchup, mustard and a dash of hot sauce and having a big blob come out the end of the bun and plop all over my leather jacket or brand new white T-shirt. Judging one of the avatars answers though, maybe the question should be "can a meat eater be happy in a world full of Vegans"?
..Sister Margaret, may you find peace and fortune in the world of Avatars!!

I think so, but we would be alot happier if they would shut their maws and realize that working for a change is better than condemning someone.

simply said.yes.
