Is this healthy?!
Is this healthy?
Today I ate
Breakfast- Special K cereal w/ 1% milk
Lunch- organic spinach tomatoe bites (serving size - 6) w/ organic cheetos
Dinner- chick fil a chicken sandwich with the fruit cup & lemonade
Desert/snacks- 9 oreos
Answers:
Partly yes, mostly no.
Healthy:
fruit cup
Unhealthy:
Special K (high in sugar a la high fructose corn syrup)
chicken sandwich (1,300mg sodium! 60mg cholesterol)
oreos (contain trans fats & lard)
milk (hormones & pus),
tomato bites & cheetos (highly processed, just because it is labeld "organic" does not make it healthy)
lemonade (basically a high calorie sugar water)
Your menu is high in empty calories, sodium, bad fats (trans, animal), while low in fiber & whole foods. All indicators of poor nutrition.
Also, remember, all animal products are high in toxicity since they are higher in the food chain (when you eat an animal/its products, you are also eating everything else which that animal has ingested).
wow fatty eat any more and you might explode
In my opinion, a little heavy on calories and sugar. Include more fresh veggies and fruit in your diet.
not bad...maybe you should add some fruit and vegetables though
and at least you dont eat the whole bag of oreos
its ok to eat them..once in a while
why is this in v&v because chicken isn't either.
Sounds pretty healthy. I'd suggest slipping 2 more small snacks/meals in there and lay off the oreos.
It wasn't too bad.
Instead of the chicken sandwhich..next time maybe go for it grilled [if you didn't already] because it being fried adds alot more calories from the iol than if it were grilled.
And the oreos aren't especially good..but it's ok to splurge sometimes =0)
They have fat free oreoes and sugar free oreos that cut back some calories..I'm not sure how they taste though.
But stay away from fat free poptarts..lol..they taste really awful..I ate one and couldn't eat the rest of the box.
I think you could have used some fresh veggies for lunch. Carrot sticks or some salad would have been good. I don't know if elements of the chicken sandwich are deep fried, but there are healthier choices if it was. I know how hard it is to not eat a ton of cookies, but the serving size for Oreos is pretty small, like three so you went a little overboard there assuming that you didn't eat them all at one time... You could also have used some fruit today (less Oreo's and more pineapple chunks?)
Yes!!!!!!!!!
9 Oreos??
As long as you dont eat over the amount!!
I Iike Oreo's!!
Here's my opinion:
Breakfast- Pretty good! I suggest some fruit or some protein in addition to the cereal.
Lunch- organic cheetos are not really any healthier than the other cheetos. I'd replace the cheetos with a healthier grain (like a roll or some rice), a fruit, or some beans.
Dinner- Chick fil a sandwhiches are pretty good, but a tad on the greasy/unhealthy side. The fruit cup is great, but the lemonade is extremely sugary (its about the same as soda). You are better off with water.
Deserts/snacks- 9? Try to cut down one or two if you can. Snacking is fine, and things like crackers or nutrigrain bars are great to eat. It doesn't really seem like you are eating much in a day.
Your food is okay, but you need to make sure your get the recomended amounts of food each day. Go to mypyramid.gov to find out what you should eat each day.
Hope I helped!
No.
Milk is not good for you. Not even 1%. You are not a cow.
I don't know what spinach tomato bites are but they sound like something processed. Cheetos, even organic Cheetos, should certainly not be eaten regularly.
Chicken is not good for you, either.
Lemonade fountain drinks usually (almost always unless it's made from scratch on the premises) aren't even loaded with sugar - they're loaded with fake, processed syrups that are not natural (high fructose corn syrup = fda says can't label products natural - ew).
NINE Oreos??? Isn't that like 400 calories or something crazy like that?
I don't see any fresh fruit or vegetables.
You have a junk diet. :(
Your body deserves better than that!
Was the chicken sandwich breaded and fried? Fried foods are bad for you, no matter what the restraunt claims. Try grilled from now on. :)
It looks pretty good... not vegetarian, but good.
:)
If the worst you do during a 24 hour period is consuming 9 Oreo cookies, then I would say you are on the right track.
Count up the calories. This site will tell you how many calories you should have in a day.
http://www.mypyramid.gov/
Type in your height and weight (or desired weight) and how much time you spend exercising per day, and it will tell you how many calories you should be consuming.
However, you do need more fruits and veggies. I am not sure if you are asking about a diet or a balanced diet, but either way, a good mix of fruits and veggies will only help.
If you have a hard time eating them, go buy a 40-50$ juicer at your nearest department store and juice your 5 servings. Another good snack is to mix 1 apple, 1 orange and 4 oz of light vanilla soymilk in a blender with some ice.
It does seem like you are focused on having a lower quantity of food. Quantity is not the important part; it is quality. You could eat all day long and if most of what you ate was fruits and veggies and then some whole grains you would be on an even better track, and you wouldn't feel like you were denying yourself so much.
Good luck
:)
umm try cutting out on the cheetos organic or not & the oreos! compare the nutrition facts & figure out which ONE to eat a day...
This diet is all processed foods, not natural foods.
and chicken is not a vegetarian/vegan food.
sounds fine to me..maybe 6 oreos would have been better. But hey, i would have had 10!
breakfast has a little bit too much sugar. trying eating half a cup of special k with half a cup of cheerios maybe?
lunch sounds good, but the organic cheetos arent necessary. i would have substituted that with an apple or something.
dinner sounds too vague. if the chicken sandwich was too oily or processed, id go for making one yourself and grilling some chicken.
nine oreos have practically no nutrional value in a daily diet; replace perhaps with strawberries or other small, sweet fruits?
overall this sounds like what most people in my school might eat on everage. just replacethe unnecessary snacks with fruits and youd be better off.
cut out either the cheetos or the oreos and it will have been fine
It's not horrible but it's not complete. Where are the whole grains? More veggies? Etc.
Most everything you ate was processed.
No.

I agree with the above poster completely. Your diet is completely junk. I hope you take a vitamin or start eating some FRESH vegetables, fruits, nuts, legumes, and whole grains.
well i think the cheetos is a bad idea it may say they are gd for you but you never know .....
