Well, by definition, a vegetarian would not meat eat, however, you can lean (heavily) toward being vegetarian. One of my children would eat vegetarian while around me (a vegan) and his grandmother (vegetarian) but would eat meat when he was with his dad or grandpa. We would joke that he was a part time vegetarian. He hasn't liked eating meat for years, but he would eat it when with his dad or grandpa because that was what they ate. After a while I sat him down and told him that I would support however he wanted to eat, but that he didn't have to eat a certain way to please any of us. That was about 4 months ago, which doesn't seem like that much time, however, he is only 10 yrs old. He decided that he didn't want to eat meat anymore and has been eating a vegetarian diet ever since. I don't ask him to eat a vegan diet and my husband doesn't ask him if he wants to eat meat.
After all that rambling, my point is that, you can have tendencies to eat one way or the other. You can also go through phases, where you eat meat for a time and then you don't. You may decide that you want to cut it out in the future, or you may decide to continue eating it .
Of course it is. These are YOUR choices.
You can't refer to yourself as a 'vegetarian' without getting browbeaten by other vegetarians. However, limiting your intake of meat and focusing on vegetables is probably the best diet you can have. Humans are omnivores, so meat plays an important role in keeping your body in top health. Keep it up!
Yes, it is called being omniverous; in layman's terms, a normal human.
It is good to have compassion for other living creatures.
Meat eaters happily take others lives so they can have a taste sensation in their mouths. This seems to me to be a selfish way of life with some exceptions.
In time your feelings of compassion may overcome your appetite, but it is difficult to do this when your parents are cooking delicious meat dishes for you.
Congratulations on your feeling of compassion for the other creatures who share our planet.
probably not, the word vegetarian kind of entails the fact that you dont eat meat, but hey, it is a lot cheaper to eat meat sparingly even if you dont want to go all out
A person is either a vegetarian or they're not. It is healthier to have a balanced diet, which includes stuff from all the food groups.
No. A vegetarian eats no meat. You are an omnivore..a person that eats both meat AND plant based foods. Either you are vegetarian or you aren't..there is no semi or partial.
For example..you cant be just partially Catholic or other religion.
Probably stew.
You either are or you aren't. But refraining from it as much as possible helps towards that goal.
Besides if you have cereal or other processed foods, the manufacturer is allowed by law to have a small amount of bug parts in it(for it is really hard to be 100% pure) in the factories.
And you probably have swallowed the odd flying bug when you have ridden your bike over the years past.
I consider myself a partial vegetarian, I simply don't like meat that much, especially red meat. I do like some chicken once in awhile like in a stir-fry, and I must admit I do suffer from the occasional "Big Mac attack". But for the most part, I stick mostly to vegetables, fruit, beans, rice, etc.
You can't eat meat and be a vegetarian. It's that simple. However, why do you need the label to define your diet? If you really feel you need to call yourself something, try flexitarian- a flexitarian is someone who abstains from animal products although a flexitarian will make exceptions on occassion. For example, a flexitarian will normally not eat animal products but might still eat meat at a barbecue in order to minimize hassle.
Do you have to be vegetarian? Even minimizing your animal consumption will do a lot of good for your health, the environment and your conscience.
Ok listen to your own question there. Whats more important to you? Your taste buds or "all the little animals that died", to please your taste buds? Of course there is no such thing as a partial vegetarian!! Cutting down on your meat intake is of course a step forward and a good start, just make sure you are doing it for the right reasons.
Hmmm, this is certainly a question of debate as many would consider being a vegetarian and give up all meat, but still say can't give up "Chicken".In my opinion, flesh eating of any kind is still eating "meat" so therefore I believe their is no such thing as "Partial". You are either a vegetarian or you are not, its really that simple. But in saying that, I feel that if people geniunely reduce their meat eating, then it is good for them in the long run.
It's the same as being "partially" pregnant. Either you are or you aren't.
It's great that you care about the death of animals, so remember that's what made your food next time you eat it. Ask yourself if the stealing of it's life was worth 15 minutes of your pleasure.
PS - lots of vegetarian meals are soooooo good, so you might want to start trying some of those as well! : )
