I want to be a vegetarian. How do I tell my mom?
I eat healthy, and I like meat, but it seems wrong to eat something belonging to the same kingdom. There are tons of foods in our house that I could eat as a vegetarian. I can also cook my own meals. I think she might say I wouldn't get enough protein, but I wouldn't be a vegan, I could eat eggs and cheese and milk and nuts. Help me.

First of all, be absolute when you tell her. Dont say it like your asking permission. your mom cant force you to eat meat. let her know that you still will be healthy and eat fruits, veggies, grains, milk, cheese, nuts and eggs. As for the protein part, look on the internet with her to find healthy alternatives high in proteins. Also, maybe start thinking about taking some vitamins. I hope this helps!
You can get protein through other foods like nuts. Do your research first. Your mom will respect your decision more if she sees that you've thought it out. Read about vegetarianism.
There comes a point in every person's life where I think they evaluate the food choices that their parents decided on for them and see if they want to continue down that path or not. I think you should show respect to your mom, and, if she follows suit, she will respect you and your decision to respect life as well.
Vegans do get enough protein - just wanted to clear up that misconception included within your post.
Good vegetarian sources of protein include whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, and vegetables. In fact, pound for pound, broccoli has more protein than "meat."
if u want to be a vegetarian, its preety hard to be a vegetarian if rest of the people in the house eat meat or chicken

If you eat eggs, cheese, nuts etc, then you will get more protein then you even need. Whole grains even have quite a bit of protein. My whole wheat bread has 6 grams per slice. .

Here is an awesome parent-teenager guide to vegetarianism. Print it out and read it over. When you feel ready, tell her about your decision and go over the pamphlet with her. It should help with a lot of the questions she might have.

Simply tell her this:
I want to be a vegetarian. I'm gonna try it out.
If she's got a problem with it? Ignore her. Refuse to eat anything she tries to feed you (I've known parents that sneak their kids meat, the sick freaks). It'll get your point across-if she can't trust you, you can't trust her.
First, do some research about protien, complete protiens, etc... you CAN get a completely balanced, healthy, nutritious diet from a vegetairan diet, even a vegan one! But it requires a little bit of knowledge about nutrition and your needs.
So do the research, find out what your nutrition needs are, and how best to get them from plant products, milk, and eggs. THEN go to your mom. You can show her your research and prove to her that you're going to be careful about getting the nutrition you need. That should make her willing to support you in your decision.
I've been a Vegetarian since birth...and I don't worry about enough this or enough that..just eat dude..
for example..on any given day i eat:
Breakfast: Cereal, Fruit Yogurt, Banana and Apple
Snack: Trail Mix or Fruit
Lunch: Veggie Burger w/ cheese with French Fries and coke
Snack: Polly-o String Cheese, Fake ham slices and cheese sandwich
Dinner: Eggplant Parmiagana or any pasta dish
i just went veg a few months ago. my mom is cool about it, she just worries sometimes. my dad drives me crazy by always offering me a big nasty ol steak and giving me the "humans were meant to eat meat" speech. just do some research and then tell your mom. she can't make you eat meat.
