In China alone, there is a big majority of people who are Buddhists and these people don't consume meat. Then when you look at Chinese from other countries like Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan and wherever, there are many Chinese vegetarians and vegetarian food stalls as well. It's common to find Chinese who are vegetarians. If there weren't, there wouldn't be so many Chinese vegetarian cuisine.
In fact, I got a better question. What percentage of Muslims are true vegetarians? Now THAT is the question.
