Vegetarians & vegans, do you bother people about eating meat?
I see on here a lot of people say that we do but I personally have never told anyone what to eat. It is so strange to me that people really don't care about how these animals have to live and die, and pick on us for trying to help. I hope that all who don't care will see the error of their ways someday.

Nope, never have. It's none of my business what they do. HOWEVER, most seem to enjoy bothering ME about NOT eating meat.
Lovely, huh?
>_<
i'm not a vegetarian anymore, but when i was that was my diet. i didn't force it down anyone throat. what other people put in their body is their choice. no skin off my back.
(ooh, bad pun, sorry. i honestly didn't mean it)
i know its absolutely cruel.. i try to convince all my frnds to change into a veggie.. i myself am vegan but my frnds wont stop milk
Oh shut up.
Man would have died out by now if they hadn't have eat meat.
Keep you way of life, but other people don't think its wrong.
All the animals we eat are deserved to be eaten . there is nothing wrong on eating nonveg. You first think daily some millions of animals are being killed to fullfil our needs other wise the animal population would have gone more than human.God has created them to fulfill our needs they are doing their job perfectly.
....live and let live. Some people are truly interested in eating the right thing for their body and if they're open to information then it's important to enlighten them. There are other people who simply criticise vegetarians when they see them avoiding animal foods and so invite a response. Then there are those who forever complain about their bodily ills which at times are so much to do with what they eat and so, if they are open to it, the offer of information to ease their ills may be appropriate.
They just sit outside a KFC and annoy people all day long.
No, but I bug people about eating gross artery clogging McDonald's.
In nature, big fish eats a little fish because its mind is not developed as much as of human who can discriminate and restraint to a great deal. Humans can also rationalize what is right and wrong and so why should they support abuse or killing of innocent animals? Plus, there is a big difference between natural birth and human breeding; and even bigger difference between animals killing each other and mass killing by humans.
The process of raising animals for food involves bringing them in this world by artificial insemination; separating mothers from their young ones; raising them in cages and confined spaces; feeding them unnatural food contaminated with chemicals, hormones, and antibiotics; and finally killing them at a young age. All these actions result in a desensitized attitude and the suppression of compassion at the conscience.
As Jains, we do have to protect all kinds of living beings. There are different laws in the jungle than in human society. In the law of jungle, the strong ones eat the weak ones, but in the law of society, the strong one protects the weak one.
Where there are animals, there are plants, except in rare places like greenland. If there is a choice , why shouldnt we go vegetarian & let live ?
I never bother meat eaters about their food choices but meat eaters always feel free to comment on my food choices.
I pick on my husband occassionally for trying meat here and there ( He mainly eats vegetarian, BUT hes one of those people that just have to have meat like 1 time a month ( were from Texas)). I make sure though that he only eats organic meat when he does. Other than that, I dont mess with people about their food. If anyone asks me why Im a veggie, I will tell them about it and the benefits, but I dont outcast them as some people do or annoy them if they like meat. I always try to point people to organic foods and meat alternatives and just try and make them see that they could eat better.
Im lucky enough to have a family that doesnt give me trouble about being a vegan. At most they will crack a joke here and there, but most of the time they just feel bad they "forgot" to have something other than carrots for me at family gatherings etc..I havent had much reason to defend myself, other than the few ignorant CHILDREN Ive worked with in the past. So to answer your question no, I dont bother people by telling them what they should eat, but if asked why I eat the way I do I explain. As for the ones who needlessly harass (which far outweighs those "pesky vegheads"), its easy to ignore them. Those types have no interests in hearing the truth.
nope, never told anyone to stop eating meat.
i would never go up to a meat eater or tell them over the computer that they need to stop eating meat. if people have questions about vegetarianism, i answer them. that's it. i'd definitely recommend a vegetarian diet, but i'm not going to try to convince everyone to be one because i would hate it if someone tried to convince me to eat meat. if a meat eater starts hassling me of course i'll get angry but i wouldn't pick a fight or anything because i know it's pointless.
I bother them only if they bother me first. ;p When I do discuss it I make sure I have the facts and statistics to back me up.
