I don't think so. Haldi (or turmeric) is a seasoning and helps arthritis. Who is "they" anyway? Hope you're not getting served questionable eggs!

Yes. Haldi is a herbal medicine

haldi is nothing but turmeric, a spice

What sorts of poisons are they talking about? The most common health risk that I'm familiar with in eggs is salmonella poisoning. That, however, shouldn't be a problem if the eggs are properly cooked.

Haldi is listed as helping many ailments (these are numerous, and found in the link I've listed below), but "clearing poisons" isn't one of them.

yes

Haldi is another name for Tumeric, a spice. Some experts do belive that Tumeric is a very potent anti-oxidant, that can help to prevent cancers, but, as far as the eggs, I think your parents just like the flavor. If you really want to eat healthy eggs, buy the eggs from natural grain fed, free range chickens. Make sure the carton says "NO antibiotics, hormones, or pesticides" on it somewhere. You can get these for usually under $2.00 a dozen. It is all the CRAP that farmers feed & inject in the chickens that make their eggs harmful in the first place.

Tumeric has antioxidants in it to prevent alzheimers. There are lower rates of Alzheimer's Disease where people eat more tumeric. There is less Alzheimer's disease in India.
