LOL welcome to THE ANEMIC CLUB. Eat a lot of liver, spinach, greens in general my dr. said. regular milk does it too. and you should also get some sulfate ferrateous from your Dr. (iron pills)

dark leafy greens work best for iron comsumption. Try Kale, Spinach, Kolrabi, Broccoli Rabe...

When I used to donate whole blood and platelets, my iron would drop and this was their recomendation.

Good Luck!

green leafy veg,especially spinach!.also broccoli.
egg yolks
red meat
prunes
nuts
dried beans (cooked of course!)

iron works best if taken with vitamin c,suchas fresh orange juice,a tomato, etc

while liver does contain lots of iron, organ meats are no longer recommended. I eat raisins a lot for iron. lots of beans contain iron, as do dark green leaf vegetables. you can also buy iron tablets at any store's vitamins section.

For a Vegetarian or a Vegan:
Vegetables like broccoli and bok choy are iron rich vegetable foods. These vegetable foods are high iron and also in vitamin C, which increases absorption of their high iron content. The presence of vitamin C in these vegetables help absorb iron.
The amount of iron absorbed from vegetarian foods is around 1 - 10% , while it is 10 - 20% from animal foods.
Combinations such as beans (including kidney, lima, navy, black, pinto, soy beans, and lentils) and greens (including collard greens, kale, mustard greens, spinach, and turnip greens), vegetables (including broccoli, swiss chard, asparagus, parsley, watercress, brussel sprouts), blackstrap molasses, nuts, dried fruits, such as raisins, prunes, dates and apricots. Use of tomato or tofu result in good iron absorption.
Eating of iron rich foods removes iron deficiency.

Are u anemic because you are vegan or vegetarian? dark green vegs have the most iron, fortified pasta, all beans, and take a multi-vitamin high in iron, and I take b-12 also. I think it helps in the absorbtion I was anemic for a long time but I changed my diet, and I now eat meat again. I also eat shellfish and fish every chance i get. Sorry I can't adhere to the vegan veg diet any more after it made me sick. I hope you start feeling better PS Goto foodtv.com to find some new recipes to cook the dark greens and to spice up your diet and maybe u will have a better appetite

Ever watch Popeye!?

Spinach all the way..Plus its yummy..:)

You are anemic because you are a vegan.

Stop practicing veganism, and start eating meat like the human body was designed for.

Veganism is a joke.

Organ meats and shell fish have lots of cholesterol. Be careful. Instead eat lots of greens -spinach, collards, kale, etc. I cook the greens in chicken broth or vegetable broth and add a little chili sauce for flavor. Iron pills can make you constipated.
