Raw food diet question....?!
Raw food diet question....?
If one is eating a raw diet and eating balanced does one still need supplements?
Answers:
yes, I take supplements to replace many things I do not receive from my raw / vegan lifestyle.
i don't think it would hurt. at least you know you're getting them. it hard for any type of diet to be perfectly balanced.
seriously the only raw food that i think shold be eating is your veggies... you should check w/ your nutritionist about any dieting questions ... good luck with your diet
I read a lot about being a Raw foodist. (It's hard, I'm 50 % right now). One thing it says a lot is no vitimans or supplements are needed, you'll get all those and more eating raw. Plus millions of years ago, nobody needed them!
I recommend buying the best raw book ever! It's by Juliano called "RAW the UNcook book" awesome ways to make butter, cream cheese, nacho cheese, soups, etc! I use his recipes everyday!! I love them all.
Today I tried his Whipped cream recipe on top of my muffins (I know, I cooked the muffins, I'm trying though). It was fantastic, my 7 year old son even loved it!

That gives the impression that there's things inherently missing from a raw diet. You can get everything; it just takes initial effort.
"millions of years ago, nobody needed them!"
But today the soil is more depleted. And stress depletes nutrients from our bodies.
Everyone should take supplements.
That is a matter of debate. In an ideal world where our foods came from perfect soil. ..NO. but as it is not many suggest suppliments. I persoanlly just do B-Complex, & B-12 w/folic acid in Liquid from.
