I'm a vegetarian. I have been for 10 years (since I was 13). Sometimes it can be a pain-- the choices of vegetarian options out there can be really limited sometimes! And personally, I DON'T like veggie burgers or tofu dogs or any of that stuff. So what I usually do is if I'm at a barbecue, eat the sides, and make a meatless burger-- just the bread, ketchup, mayo, lettuce, tomato, cheese. People think its weird or funny sometimes but i'm perfectly content doing that and eating the chips and potato salad and stuff. It's better than going hungry!!! And when I go out to restaurants I usually make a meal out of the sides and appetizers. You can always ask them to make something without the meat.. For example, I'll get Red Lobster crab alfredo without the crab, or Applebee's Santa Fe chicken salad without the chicken or potato skins without the bacon bits on top.
I wish there were more options out there, hope this helps!

i am a vegetarian

I'm vegan.

Veg head. =]

maybe take something to eat with you like a small snack. Like nutrigain bars & stuff like that with some water or juice ;) or make your body used 2 the meats.

I'm a meat-eater but I try to have a vegetarian meal at least once or twice a week.

vegetarianism isn't always easy. But, the good news is, so many people are vegetarians today that most places are beginining to cater to us more. For example many Burger Kings now have a veggie burger on the menu. So do most restraunts like Ruby Tuesday, CHillis, T.G.I Friday, and applebees.

Vegetarianism is much healthier. Animals are so diseased today! Keep strong... And don't be afraid to ask for special dishes (For example.. at chilis they have steak and portabella mushroom fajitas. I ask them to substitute the steak for extra portabella mushrooms! Don't be afriad. After all, you're the customer, and the customer is always right.)

Next time you think you may end up in a situation with family or friends where you might not have options to eat, take along your own sandwich, or better yet, ask them if you provide fake hotdogs, if they'll heat them up for you on their grill or wherever they're heating their hot dogs!

i am a vegie(no egg,no meat ) and not that by force or compulsion but by sheer choice.i would gladly go hungry to bed than eat something nonveg.and i rather like this too.whenever i go on vacations abroad usually i survive on chips and bread and chocolates and sometimes salads....i find it is so unusual and so exciting

I'm vegetarian, if you miss meat you could try some alternatives like;

-veggie burgers (Boca and morning star are great)

-veggie dogs

-soy nuggets

Here are some good vegetarian recipes;

This link has 14 pages of salads, some vegetarian;

I know how you feel. I was at a BBQ and they didn't have any vegetarian burgers or anything. And of course you don't want to be that person who complains about what they're cooking. Unfortunately, this is something that comes with our way of life.

I'm a vegetarian with a twist... I don't like eggs. But I'm not vegan because I really love my morning chocolate milk :-)

There's nothing wrong with any eating lifestyle! If you would like some meatless recipes, just run a yahoo search on "Vegetarian recipes." Plenty will pop up for you!

i have been a vegetarian for the majority of my life and i have never ever hated it. i'm not criticizing you, i just find it sad that anyone could hate it. but anyways, you haven't said why you have tried to eat meat again. you may want to explore that reason and see if it legitimate or not. believe me, i know it sucks when everyone around you is eating meat, or when people make fun of you for being a vegetarian, or when you have to go out of your way to make your own meat-free meal. i have experienced a lot of this and it really gets on my nerves sometimes but i won't let other people change my beliefs. i hope you stay vegetarian, but the choice is up to you.

PLEASE DO NOT FEEL SICK ALONE.
