Most of the time yes. Rare occasions it can contain cochineal (aka carmine, carminic acid,E120), which is made from crushed cochineal beetles in order to make red dyes. Like I said though this is rare, so if you dont see these ignredients you are safe. Red dye 40 is vegan so you are ok there.

Nah.......but it ain't tutti fruitty either.

I believe it is... the bog is flooded to get the berries then there is a machine that picks them up to bring to the processing plant. I suppose it could be bad for the environment because of the flooding of the bog but then any water use is because we move it from one place to another with channels and pipes that disrupt the agriculture. i think you do the best you can because everything looks bad if you look too deep.
