Hello Shivi,

Yes tofu can taste like rubber at times. It just depends on the type of tofu as the process for making tofu varies. Very soft tofu is used in soups but for curries and stir frying you need firmer tofu. Slice the organic tofu into plaques about 1 cm thick and fry both sides in a pan with a little cold pressed organic oil. When crispy wipe the oil off with a paper towel and add some Shoyu or Tamari soya sauce on both sides. Cut the tofu into blocks and add it to the dish at the end of the cooking process. This is just one method of preparing tofu but with excellent taste and texture. Bon apetite !!

Buy the firm tofu. Cube it and put it in your pan towards the end of cooking just to heat it thoroughly.

Tofu is somewhat like a mushroom - it takes on the flavor of whatever you are cooking it in.

toufu is good when it's steamed. put some oil and some oyster sauce. this is how chinese would make it. simple yet nice

Well.....you start by tossing out the Tofu and adding some real meat like steak or chicken to your stir fry. :)

Hi, I am the biggest steak eater and the last person anyone would believe likes tofu but my girlfriend of five years has me loving it. I like the firm not the silky because the firm has more of a meaty texture. It is awesom in Thai food like Phad Thai. Cut it into dice sized cubes and stir fry it til it's golden brown. Give it a chance and it will probably grow on you.

Pad Thai is the best! I love that one. It's a stir fried dish and has a near infinite variety of combinations. What is best about it is that you can add chicken or shrimp, making it great for mixed vegan/carnivore gatherings. You make one recipie, divide it in half and add what you like.
