Why is strawberry activia yogurt unsuitable for vegetarians?!

Question:

Why is strawberry activia yogurt unsuitable for vegetarians?

and no ,im not going daft for anyone one thats read my previous question. mango is suitable. strawberry is not and im not happy

Answers:
It has pork and beef geletine in it.

The pectin on the strawberries they use does not set sufficiently fast enough for thier production lines.

As do many non-veggie yogurts.

I love standing at the shelf, picking up a meaty-yogurt and saying to myself "oh no, thats got dead-cow in it"...you get funny looks from people and i often wonder why its a shock to them, do they not look at what they are eating ? If they find me calling it "dead cow" a shock, why do they continue to eat it ??.

I wonder if they think calling it "natural gelling agent" actually makes the cow any less dead.

The nosey buggers shouldn't be listening to my conversation anyway !

Does it have gelatin in it?

it probably has animal derivatives in it so unsuitable for vegetarians.

because it isn't a veggie!

Yogurt is made from cows milk, so it's not vegetable. You know that, so perhaps it's got some thing else in it , gelatin?.

The person above me, yes, I think we have guessed milk is not a vegetable. Quite a lot of vegetarians drink milk.

And I'm not sure, have you compared the ingrediants? Wouldn't see how it wouldn't be suitable

It's is because it has gelatin in it, like many other yogurts and foods.

Probably the gelatin. Activia will tear up your stomach anyway. I reccomend Stoneyfield Farms brand organic yogurt. No gelatin and much kinder to your digestive system.

bein vegan i would not know but i imagine it is either/or food colourant/flavourin
