What is the best way to handle meat eaters?
I have been working real hard to get the word out about animal cruelty in vegan section of Yahoo! Answers. However, I have been encountering a lot of hateful people who never have anything positive to say. I even saw a thread titled "Anyone else sick of Ashley the annoying veggie!?" and it really has me shaken up that people can hate me so bad and I haven't done anything wrong. It really has me so stressed out right now that I am literally shaking. What is the best way to handle all this negativity?
Answers:
Stick to your guns & maintain your beliefs. You're not going to let a bunch of low-life morons deter you are you? Sticks and stones and all that, right? Rise above it; you are better than that (and them). Take care.
on a skewer
If you can't beat them, Join them.
Eat Meat.
And quit trying to push your beliefs on others!
eat a hamburger.
why do you let them get to you ? its only the Internet
Are you getting the word out or are you preaching? Just take it easy. People can be pretty cruel on here because it's not face to face. Just take a deep breath and go on.
Note: Just read one of your questions and it looks as though you're inviting the negativity. This text is in your question "Do meat eaters even have a heart? " I'm a meat eater and I have a huge heart. I believe animals are food and people are more important, sorry. We are aloud to have different opinions and neither of us should diss the other for it...
I'm a vegetarian, so I'm totally with you. I know how people can be...they dont care about animals. Just remember what you're doing is right and stick to it!! With people like you, we can have a better world.
Quit being an annoying veggie? Seriously I have seen your questions, you are a veggie nazi.
if u cant beat 'em............join 'em lol
Sausages....
Animals were put on the earth for food
Try and take no notice because it is the people that matter that love you.
Hey i have to handle losts negativity at school about being vegan, but every time someone says something hurtful i think of anna!! Anna was so inspired by my veganism that she became a vegetarian!!There are some really nice meat eaters out there too =)
Ps im sorry for all the negative answers youre getting they are really rude!!And i dont care if people "meat" eaters rate me really bad Thanx guys u know i really dont care i have so many friends that eat meat!!
I am with ya girl..stick in there. I tell folks who are meat eaters that I don't eat it for reasons (like you do)& get funny looks . But do I care no! I care about what goes into my mouth as well as the animals. Stick to my guns >>>>>>
try not to think about them iam a meat eater but i know people make the choices ur a veggie so i wouldnt try and make u eat meat
well im a vegitarian also,,but its my choice and i wont try to stop other ppl eating meat,,
but the best way to handle the negativity it to ignore the neg and concentrate on the poss....
good luck..
look it's okay, for you to say stop to animal cruelty humans against animals cause animals against animals do not stop, animals eat other animals and they like it
but of course, i'm for finding an alternative to meat, though i DO NOT RECOMMEND VEGETARIANISM TO ANYONE,
because i didn't eat meat 7 years and i became ill of stomach problems
so probably not all people are ready to be vegetarians
so better, make your own choice and let others make theirs
If it were me, rather than focusing on the animal cruelty aspects, post some yummy vegetarian/vegan recipes that even meat-eaters would enjoy, in an attempt to encourage more people to eat meat-free meals.
Here's a favorite of mine:
MEXICAN LASAGNA
Take a Pyrex baking dish and line the bottom with crumbled corn tortilla chips.
Take a can of kidney beans, drained, and make a layer.
Then add a layer of canned tomatoes, drained.
Add a layer of chopped green onions.
A layer of chopped cilantro.
Add another layer of drained canned tomatoes.
Add another layer of kidney beans.
Now add another layer of crumbled tortilla chips.
Put on a layer of shredded mozzerella cheese.
Then add a layer of plain yogurt.
Now add a layer of shredded cheddar.
Bake at 300 for 30 minutes.
well where i think its good that you are trying to get the word out and your opinion heard you have to remember that you not eating meat is your choose just as me eating meat is my choice you can give people info and you can tell them what you think but you cannot make people do what you want them to do just ignore the people saying hurtful things about you chances are they are not even Reading your info anyways but i am sure the people who are are finding it interesting and there are probably a few out there who are using your info to make potently life altering decisions
remember you can spread the word you can spout lots of info you can offer advice and answer questions but you cannot change those who are unwilling to change themselves
You can't convert serious carnivores and vegetarianism isn't a religion. Better you should share your thoughts with other vegans, there are lots of websites. Don't stress about it.
Ignore them.
I'm a meat eater myself but that doesn't mean I don't sympathise with you.
It's crazy, they shouldn't penalise you for having an opinion and trying to do good things.
Just ignore them, they're not worth it.
IF BY "HANDLE" YOU MEAN CONTROL OR CHANGE THEIR TASTE TO SUIT YOU-- YOU MIGHT TRY TO FIND MIDDLE GROUND ON THE SUBJECT-RATHER THAN ALWAYS BE RIGHT
the best way to get over it is: have a nice juicy STEAK
Frankly, the best way to deal with it is just to ride it out and develop a thicker skin. There is no point in stressing yourself out to the point that you make yourself ill. You're never going to be able to have every person out there like you or agree with your opinions, but that is what makes the world go round. I am sorry to hear that you've been getting a lot of negative criticism for your beliefs, but that is often what does happen when you stand up for what you believe in, esp. when most people out there don't agree with you. I think the other problem too is that your approach is probably really off-putting to many out there. I myself eat meat, and you might think I'm vile or ignorant for what I believe in or do, but that is really up to me. You have to remember that everyone out there has an opinion, and just like you, is entitled to believe what they do. If you want to get the word out there and encourage them to change their lifestyle habits, all you can do is inform them, but give that person the option of being able to choose just as you had the right to make your choice. The ultimate decision is dependent on the other person, only when and IF they wish to do so.
Nobody hates you, honey, but basing all of your questions around one slightly specialized topic implying criticism of all those who don't follow your dietary regime can irritate some people. Haven't you noticed the hateful comments directed against Christians by non-Christians? I just noticed one question that read "Why Are Black Girls So Ugly?" If you were Black how would you feel after seeing that on Yahoo! Answers. Perhaps you are a little too sensitive for this forum or maybe you should change direction slightly to educate rather than criticize. But look on the bright side. You're famous on Yahoo! Answers after less than two weeks - not many people achieve that. Take care of yourself and keep the faith. Love and kisses
If you wanna be a vegie, then thats's ur decision & you should go for it.
Personnally, I think that we (as humans ) as animals in the circle of life, & that it is just lucky that we are at the top of the food chain......humans are biologically meant to eat meat - whether u want to or not is another issue.
Do what u want, & don't worry about what anyone else thinks.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and many people, like myself do not like being preached to. I have to say that I have not come accross your questions/answers, so I am not sure about your history. But from your question this time round it seams that you may be "preaching" On the other hand if you are answering relevant questions with your opinion, then surely the asker should read it as exactly that, your opinion, and that is what answers is all about. In that situation, stand your ground.
From an open minded meat eater.
I just went through your past questions.
You sound like that crazy religious twit, standing on a soap box in the middle of NY City trying to convert the people around him.
You can eat meat or not eat meat, but don't try to tell others how to live, or your going to get the same thing back at ya.
KEEP YOUR OPINIONS TO YOURSELF OR TAKE THE FEEDBACK!!!!
If you let something like a diet become a political issue, I'm sorry to say this love, but it IS annoying.
The fact is that most domesticated animals are bred for their meat or their milk, and if we didn't eat them, they would be extinct long ago, because they would be in direct competition with humans for vegetable resources. Think about it. By NOT eating meat, you could be contributing to the demise of animal species, in theory.
However, as too many of us like meat as a food for this ever to become a likelihood, it might be better to consider how the meat that is consumed by humans is reared. I am a meat eater, yes, but I do not buy battery-farmed meat, only organic. In addition to battery-farmed meat being full of growth hormones and other nasties, there is also the fact that these animals were forced to live in unnatural and cramped conditions, and in some cases were declawed, debeaked to prevent 'inconvenient and unprofitable' fighting among these animals - which would be the case as any creature forced to live the way they do would fight for a bit more space.
No doll, you're not doing anything wrong in sticking up for what you believe in, but in order for it to be convincing, you need to examine the real situation, and take the real issues on board. So educate yourself.
IGNORE them. They are ignorant, mean spirited and stupid, and enjoy being that way.
Don't even waste your time stressing about them.
Keep putting out the truth about vegetaranism/vegan and just blow off their stupid answers and give them negative points-that way you no longer have to read their low IQ answers.
