A lot of hash browns you get "on the go" are make in beef grease. Also worcestershire sauce usually contains anchovies. I hate finding this stuff out!
My favourite brand of rice crackers were recently sold and the seaweed ones are now made with beef! Not only that but they are now no longer gluten free. They have DEFINITELY lost a customer.
krispy kreme donuts , captain crunch , i was suprised about whey not being vegetarian since thats in a lot of foods i used to eat. one of the most horrible moments was when i was eating these cookies at my grandmas house and when i looked on the back it sad beef fat!! i was traumatized and now i check every ingredients label religiously. some ingredients i typically run into are mono-diglycerides(in a lot of baked goods) and whey. ofcourse i avoid rennet and gelatin and the typical stuff.
altoids contain gelatin. gelatin is made from beef bones. i ate a piranha on saturday.
cheese doritos state on the back not suitable for vegetarians. my mum got a cheese and tomato micro sandwhich thing and even though it was cheese and tomato it actually had chicken extracts in it

Many breads are not veggie, beers, wines....the list is endless really.
Most "vegetarian" options in resturants are not veggie. The cross contamination is appauling and most resturants do not check thier raw ingredients ( such as using veggie cheese )
To be able to truthfully call yourself a veggie, you should not eat processed products that are not clearly labelled as veggie. If you do so, you are just guessing.
