Good animal rights books?!

Question:

Good animal rights books?

I'm looking for good books to read on animal welfare/rights. Can anyone recommend anything particularly gripping that they've read? I'm interested in the meat/dairy industry, and animal testing in particular.

I did an internet search but I'm lost as there're so many! I preferably would like something that's informative (and truthful) without being too fanatical.

Thank you for injecting some of your valued wit an intelligence Kevin. Not all people interested in animals give a toss about animal rights, so on the whole I think my best chance is in this section. Keep the smart a** comments rolling though, you've clearly got nothing better to do and I would hate to spoil your fun :-)

- 'The Pig Who Sang To The Moon' by Jeffrey Masson

- 'Campaign Against Animal Cruelty: an Activist's Handbook' published by Scamp Media

If you go on the Animal Aid website there's booklets and leaflets you should be able to order too.

What does this have to do with being a Vegetarian??? Try the animal section. Not all Vegans are animal rights activists. I have a friend who is a vegan and he shot a sweet 15 point buck last year. He does it for the health benefits. Not to mention he gave me all the meat! WOOT!

Well I know your mad and all about my response. But just humor me. Post this same question in the animals section and see how many results you get. Did not mean to be offensive or 'witty' as you put it.

i dodnt know any books but the viva website is really good form meat and m,ilk industry
if you was quick facts then go to the thinking baout being veggie section
if you want something to read look at "murder she wrote"

www.viva.org.uk
