I'm afraid it is. Whilst cheese is high in calcium it is also pretty much pure fat. I love it too but it is definitely something to be eaten in moderation :-(
Cheese in small amounts is just great for you, but I hate to tell you in larger amounts its not really that good for you..its high in fat...it also does other things to your body...it can constipate you....
Actually cheese isnt very high in calcium... a lesser helping of green veggies is higher in calcium. It IS high in protein and fat. And you should always eat protein with your fat making cheese AWESOME! Cause it doesnt put on as much weight, more of it is used for energy and processable by your body.
The fat content and fact that its just cream from milk with bacteria that crap out proteins means its gonna come out bad the more you eat... 1/3 cup of cheese is like drinking 3 glasses of 2% milk.
As long as you are not lactose intolerant, then no it's not bad for you. Cheese (as long as it's not immitation), is actually good for you because it is loaded in Calcium. yes and no.. cheese even though a dairy product may be unhealthy to eat a lot...u must eat 40 different nutrients a day,, i learned this in ahealth class so cut down on the cheese
It's fattening, but it's not too horrible I suppose, considering there's a man in england who has eaten nothing but cheddar cheese since he was a toddler and he's doing alright. There are worse things you could eat.

Cheese is so fatty so yes, it is. sorry. I use to eat cheese all the time before becoming vegan. Since I stopped, I've lost weight, lost pimples and have a more regulated digestive system.
Hard to avoid as a Vegetarian whenever I go out, everything is either smothered in cheese, encased in pastry or deep fried in breadcrumbs. Fed up..........
Excuse me people, fatty foods aren't bad. What's bad is when people eat to many fatty foods and don't do enough excercise. People who do excercise and/or don't eat too huge amounts have nothing to worry about.
In fact, fat is good in a diet, it's just a question of not eating too much and making sure you burn it off.
