What is the shelf life of bottled soda?

Most soda bottles have 'best when used by...' dates on them, either on the side of the cap or the bottom of the bottle (or can). I actually experimented myself with this 'freshness date' by trying a fresh bottle next to an expired one. The fresh one definitely tasted better (it was a blind test, so I wasn't biased).

Check the bottom of the bottle.
a 2 liter, probably a month, if its unopened, after opening it, make sure you screw the lid back on tight so it fizzes when you open it- when you open it and it doesn't fizzle, its flat and therefore probably wont be as tasty!! Canned soda can last for a long time- like year(s)
