How do you keep coke from going flat?!

Question:

How do you keep coke from going flat?

I need the most info you can give me it would really help me if you could answer this for me it would mean a bunch

Answers:
#1. Drink it!
#2. Put the cap on TIGHT, and don't store it more than a day or two.

I used to own a handy little device that you used instead of the original bottle cap, and it had a little pump on it that you could pump to pressurize the bottle to supposedly keep it from going flat.

I read two answers recommending squeezing the bottle, do NOT do that, only someone ignorant would do that!

I used to work with a guy that would squeeze his 2 liter bottle when recapping it, to get out as much air a possible, he thought that would help keep it from going flat, I never bothered to tell him he was in fact creating a partial vacuum, (the bottle strains to return to it original convex shape) thus drawing out the carbonation faster!

FACTS!

Put the cap on the bottle tight and put it in the fridge.
Also, if you already have flat Coke, put a little bit of Club soda in it to add back the fizz!

Keep the cap on it until your ready to use it.

Keep the lid on it, don't shake it, keep refridgerated... apart from that I dunno.

I know it really helps to not shake it up at all... and whatever you do, keep it standing upright. If you lay your coke flat, it will BECOME flat.

There's also a device from Pampered Chef that pumps more air into the coke container. It seems to work pretty well.

If the coke is in a plastic bottle (rather than a glass one, or a can) you can squeeze the extra air out of the bottle before putting the top back on. I've done this with bottles of seltzer and it keeps them fizzy for a couple of extra days.

Don't open it until you are ready to drink it.
It starts to go flat as soon as you open it.
God Bless..........Dixiebell

that's why they make small bottles/cans
You could try Pepsi!!

you drink it

if you keep large enough amounts of soda together, this should slow decarbonation. I've noticed that soda is really only flat when the bottle is more than halfway empty.

Unless you can drink six glasses of Coke in 2 days you're better off buying cans or small bottles than the big 2 litre bottle. Once you open the bottle is just a matter of time before it goes flat. Only take the cap off when you're ready to have a glass, drinking it from the can or small bottle keeps the fizz in better once you pour a glass a lot of the carbonation is lost. Keep the container in the fridge and get it cold, avoid using ice cubes to make it cold. Tilting the glass when pouring it to avoid getting a head on it keeps more of the carbonation also.

im sure you know not to shake coke...
but before you screw the cap on, squeeze out as much air as you can from the bottle, then store it upsidedown in the fridge, this will prevent air from going in and keep it longer

Try drinking it

A spoon in the can or bottle, but the best is those pressure corks. They have a pimp at the top and screw on the bottle. I use them a lot, and you can find them at Linen and Things and Bed Bath and Beyond, that's where I find mine.

The spoon works great on champagne bottles, it's incredible

Good luck

after you open it close the bottle as tight as you can, and that should keep the coke from going flat as fast.
