Actually, you can die of water intoxication if you drink a vast amount of water AND "hold it". It's pretty rare, to say the least, but too much water is just that: too much.

Consult a doctor to see what he recommends as a sensible intake for your size/diet/activity level.

no water is good for you

yes! it is very serious too.it is called water entoxication..if u drink too much water you can flood your organs

people have died from drinking too much.

no. its good to drink water. but i did hear two stories of people dying from water overdoses. they drank water to death. seriously, i'm not kidding.

Yes it is a such thing. 1. if u consume too much at one time u can die. 2. if u consume too much of a long period of time u can get sick. but it is ok too drink a gallon a day depending on your activities. u should drink as much water as your body needs

wth a gallon?!?! I think either you are lying about how much you drink or you are stupid one...just stick to 8 glasses a day

A gallon is ideal! I do it everyday!

just make sure you eat your daily food group amounts

as long as you have a urinal next to you, then you can do it all day!!!!!

a gallon isn't too much if you are exercising and sweating it out...just for everyday drinking, a gallon is too much.

Yes it is real. You should drink about 8 glasses of water a day, but there has been a few cases where people die because of drinking an excess of water. It happens bc when you drink to much water the salt in you body is pushed out of the cells. I dont know the exact reason that makes that fatal but it does.

It depends on your activities, but one gallon shouldn't be too much

It's all about how much you drink at one time. Chugging a gallon of water straight will probably kill you, but a gallon A DAY is fine, because you'll be sweating and peeing and losing water, anyway.

Yes, somebody died from drinking too much water.
It happened in the USA in 2006.
It was a radio station prank.

Look it up on the net!

I think it depends if your an active person. Example if you run track or excise is when you need to stay hydrated. If your concerned ask your doctor. I not trying to worry you but it could be your body's way of telling you something is wrong.

8 glasses a day is healthy.
If you drink more than that you will have to urinate a lot more, and you might swell a bit from retaining the water. I've known people who have drank a gallon a day, claiming that it helps flush their system faster & lose weight, but i think that it is excessive.
Those stories about too much water consumption killing you are true, but you would have to drink an exorbitant amount of water for it to happen.

yes because u can deplete r electrolytes but if u drink 1 glass of juice, coke ect a day u can drink all the water u want.i no this because i haVE 2 DRINK ALL the water i can because i am a quad [cripple neck down] 4 18years and i have 2 flush my kidneys because kinder failer is the number cause of death 4 people like me i drink 2-3 gallon a day + 12 oz of koolaid 2 times a day 2 replace my electrolytes

I don't think so.
If you feel like thirsty , just drink water as you like !
I don't think there is problem for that !
After all the water will come out from our body just to cool our body down !
Don't worry !

Yes...You can literally drown your cells..you need like 8 gallons though

The amount of water that is healthy for a person to drink is best determined by height and weight. Drinking water replaces what is lost by daily functions, such as breathing and is essential to vitality. However, unless you are about about six feet tall and weigh two or three hundred pounds, I'd recommend you not drink so much.

I once drank about 6 litres (about 1 1/3 gallon) of water a day for months and developed a respiratory infection that could have stopped my repiration if untreated. Don't risk it!

Take your weight in pounds and divide by 2. This is the number in ounces you should drink each day to stay properly hydrated. Water is in milk, tea, fruit, veggies, etc, too. So for math sake, if a person weighed 180#, 180/2=90. A 180# person should drink 90 oz of water.

yes it is too much.
it can lead to water in toxication in your body that is not good for health.
drink around 2 ltrs. of water. 1 gallon is around 3.8 ltrs.
