Edit: Me, I strongly believe it is it's own company, with 7-Up.

Dr. Pepper is its own thing, it gets distributed by the main bottling company in the area (which is usually Coke or Pepsi, except in our case where its actually 7up that distributes it)

Source(s):
Work with vendors (Coke, Pepsi and 7up)

yeah it's a pepsi product.
just like mountain dew is also.

I think Mr. Pibb is the coke counterpart

nope, its a coca-cola product, even says so on the can.

Yes it's Pepsi

It is a product of Cadbury Schweppes which also produces 7UP and A&W. It is not owned by Pepsi or Coke.

Dr Pepper is made by Coca Cola.

Yes.

In many cities, DP is bottled by the Coke bottler if there is not a Pepsi bottler nearby.

Mr. Pibb is Coke's answer to DP. Coke actually created DP decades ago, sold it to Pepsi, and when it became popular, had to re-create a competitor.

Yeah, it's a Pepsi product.

i think so

Dr Pepper is coke and Mr. Pibb is Pepsi. You can verify at pepsi.com or coke.com

It's a 7-up product. In the US it's marketed by Cadbury-Schwepps and in most non-US areas it's controlled by Coca-Cola.

YES!!!!!!! How could you not know that

No it is not a pepsi product, it is only distributed by Pespi bottlers which is why folks think that. I work for PEPSICO.

definitely coke

No, it's Cadbury Schweppes.

Laughs, it's whatever the store owner says it is.. I've seen it in both sections of the soft drinker cooler, in different stores in the same town..

i think it a coca cola product

According to drpepper.com, the official company site, Dr. Pepper/7Up was acquired in 1995 by Cadbury Schweppes plc. So it is neither Pepsi or Coke.

Nope, it is a coke product!

Cadbury Schwepps corp! Trademark controlled by CocaCola in the US varies in other parts of the world.

Dr. Pepper is with the 7UP company.

sure is

According to the Dr Pepper site, Dr Pepper was first sole in 1885. In 1968 it joined with 7-Up to form Dr Pepper/7-Up. This corporation was purchased by Cadbury's in 1995.

No, it's not a pepsi product. It's its own little company. I know cause I used to work at this little gas station and they made me go fix all the damn Dr. Pepper products that I had put on Pepsi isles!!! And then, I saw two different trucks drop off different products.

You are right. Dr Pepper is an independent company. Mr Pibb is a product of coke. Have you ever noticed most restaurants have either Coke OR Pepsi? Restaurants that are supplied with Coke already have access to Mr Pibb, so restaurants supplied by Pepsi need the Pibb/Pepper flavored drink....most often they use Dr Pepper. This is the cause for the confusion. Hope this helps.

Dr. Pepper, 7-UP & A&W Rootbeer are all owned by Cadbury Schweppes.

In Canada and Poland, Cadbury-Schweppes has licensed distribution rights to PepsiCo. In Mexico, Germany, France, Italy, Sweden, The Netherlands, Slovakia, Finland, Austria, Czech Republic, Belgium, and Norway, Cadbury-Schweppes owns the trademark and distributes the product. In Spain, Turkey and Greece it is almost impossible to find as it is usually imported from the United Kingdom in particular supermarkets. In almost all of the other countries of the world, The Coca-Cola Company purchased the trademark from Cadbury-Schweppes and distributes the product. This mixed worldwide ownership of the trademark is due to anti-trust regulations which prevented Coca-Cola from purchasing the rights everywhere. Dr Pepper is also available in Japan and South Korea.

Hope that helps.

i have no idea srry

No. It's bottled by either Pepsi or Coca-Coca company or by independent bottlers. It is made by Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverges

Dr Pepper is a Coca-Cola product if you go to your local grocery store it will be in with the coke products and when coke is on saleso is dr pepper. GO FIGURE

Dr Pepper and 7 Up are owned by Cadbury-Schweppes. In the US, Dr Pepper and 7-Up do not have a network of bottlers or distributors; it is bottled under contract by a) independent Coke bottlers, b) independent Pepsi bottlers, or c) independent distributors. Here-in lies the confusion for many as in their area they may see it being delivered by Coke and assume it is a Coke product, and in other areas, Pepsi delivers it causing people in that area to think it is a Pepsi product.

In other countries, Cadbury-Schweppes has licensed distribution rights to Coke.

Dr Pepper is my favorite soft drink!
