If i drink from the same water bottle for about two days does it grow bacteria?
does it grow more or less bacteria if you put it in the refridgerater during intervals?
Answers:
It's been growing bacteria since the minute you opened it. Will it harm you? No.
The bacteria will grow at a lesser rate if refrigerated.
everything will kill you eventually
the plastic in the bottle seeps chemicals into the water. these chemicals will give you cancer. i wouldn;t worry about the bacteria as much as the chemicals in the plastic.
Yes it grows bacteria, and yes it will grow less in the refrigerator. What I do is take a 20 fl. oz. bottle and drink it and then wash it good with soap and hot water, dry it good and then refill it with filtered water which I put in the fridge so it will be cold for next time. If I use the same bottle again, I soak it in hot water and a bit of chlorine bleach for about 10 minutes before I wash it and refill it. It has worked well for me for several years.
it is best not to reuse water bottles, they are not meant for re-use! not healthy!
"The Canadian Bottled Water Association advises against reusing the containers altogether. It says the containers are made for single use and should be recycled afterward, not reused. People would be unable to properly sterilize the bottles at home, and the industry doesn't evaluate the safety of the bottles for multiple uses."

basically, clean it with a little bleach water each evening.
Your better off throwing it away, it you don't clean it between use its going to grow bacteria and germs and yucky stuff. If its one of those nelgene bottles rinse it with HOT HOT water before you re use it, or of course wash it out! Through out the day shouldn't be fine, but after a day of use I would throw it away if its just like bottle from the vending maching or wash it if it's a reusable one!
My Chior teacher told us this! Back in Highschool AND my Dr. told me this as well!
I am active duty military stationed overseas. We are given cases and cases of bottled water because they encourage us to drink out of a new one each time. Bacteria builds up on the mouth of the bottle and in the threads of the lid, so every time you put your mouth back on it, you may or may not ingest the bacteria. You may or may not get sick, depending on your immune system and what you have been subjected to. E-coli and other harmful bacterias grow and/or are present in water, making the likelihood of you eventually getting sick higher. However, usually you might end up with a case of diarrhea at the worst. But depending on where you are and what you do, it might be hard to deal with. The best suggestion is to reuse the bottle as much as you want, but, you should wash it each time you refill. And, make sure you wash the lid really good, or else you are just putting the bacteria back on the mouth of the bottle. It is just like washing your dishes after dinner. Do you eat on them more than once without washing them?
it shouldnt make any difference if you put it in the fridge or not [its only water], if you backwash your water in the bottle and there are tiny bits of food floating around [sounds gross, but it happens] then you should change it as there may starting growing bacteria.......i think
Once you drink out of a bottle, you put TONS of bacteria from your mouth into the bottle.....I would HIGHLY recommend not drinking out of the same container if you do not finish the drink at one sitting. Also, wash the bottle out when you do finish the water before you fill it with more. If you think you won't finish the drink, pour it into a glass or another smaller container. YUK.
