Is it bad for you to drink ice water with your meals?
I like ice water with my meals, and ice water in general. Can I drink it as much as I want? I thought water would be the best thing to drink.

it is nice to drink ice water especially after meal but cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed.It will slow down the digestion.once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food.It will line the intestine.Very soon this will turn into fats and lead to cancer.its best to have hot soup or drink warm water after meal.

It is always better to drink water w/o ice b/c the coldness of ice water makes your body use up more energy to warm itself down to normal. as far as with dinner, I do it all the time. water doesn't interfere w/ flavor or texture.
Ice water helps burn calories because the body has to warm it up before it can use it. Water is great, but as with anything it can be over done to the point of dying. there was a water drinking contest by a radio station recently where the winning contestant died from drinking too much water.

Yeah, water is Ok to drink, but nothing can be consumed in excess:
Last year in Bio we read an article about a policeman who drank so much water that his cells exploded since they couldn't hold that much water, it killed him
But the amount of water he drank was insane, he had gallons of water in one sitting, so yeah...
don't worry about it, unless you drink an excessive amount you'll be fine (and by excessive I mean gallons upon gallons)

No not at all...You burn calories for your body to work to bring the ice water up to body temperature..and the water helps digest your food.. Actually you are suppose to drink water with all your meals..it keeps your stomach from over producing acid and causing problems like heartburn and indigestion.
I do not drink ice water at all, I always have warm water with my meals, warm sake with my sushi. Ice water make me sick, my chinese herbs doctor told me that icy cold drinks would speed up the aging process. I try to avoid eating cold food except ice-cream, I quit it in winter but I can't really quit ice-cream in summer. Well, but then, I take chinese herbs tea to enhance my health after I had ice-cream.
I know its healthier to drink warm water.
