Bottled water?!

Question:

Bottled water?

it fell as snow and rain 20,000 years ago filtered through rocks for centuries layed in underground pools for yonks so why is there a use by date on the bottle?surely it`s still good for another 10,000 years at least, and if not what have they done to it that it`s only good for the next few months?

Answers:
Some reasons:

1) It is now in a plastic container which, no matter how inert, will leach some chemicals over time.

2) Partially used water could become affected by bacteria ESPECIALLY of any type of pollutant gets into it -- like saliva! (That's why once opened, and if you drink from the bottle, you should use or throw it away within 24 hours)

3) The manufacturers want to 'frighten you' into using it quickly so that you buy more and they make more money! (This is probably the main reason)

I think its something to do with the bottle- something about bacteria and plastic...

lol.

like that you have thought about this

Its the plastic bottles that are the problem. After a while it breaks down and contaminates the water. Can you imagine though, someone sat at a mountain spring filling up all though's millions of bottles. Its definitely a job for life!.

haha. maybe it's the bottles which have a use by date, not the water.

The plastic bottle doesn't include the rocks to filter it.

The used by date is because the plastic in the bottle degrades over time and may effect the water after a certain amount of time.

interesting observation.

Very good lol!

What the first person answered (Panda) has some truth in it about the bottles.

I asked a question some time ago asking if these plastic bottles are poisonous?

And.....they are. But nothing to get alarmed about.
I have done this when I go to the gym (not very often I hasten to add) people fill up their plastic bottles from the gyms supply of water.

Your plastic bottle that you drink from degrades ever so ever so slightly. But the bottles do contaminate the water.
Also bacteria are quite common (obviously)
