I think you mean Kinnie is a drink and Cisk Lager is beer. In Malta there is an annually beer festival.

Kinnie is a soft drink based on bitter oranges: www.kinnie.com - it has a strong taste and is very unique. Highly recommended. It is very remotely similar to Krest (owned by Coca-Cola if I'm not mistaken), which tastes like someone put 75% Coke 25% Kinnie in a glass and removed the bubbles i.e. terrible.

Cisk Lager is the most popular beer with locals. However most foreigners find it too light. It's big brother, Cisk Export Lager is better received - it's a premium lager (i.e. higher alcohol) and a sort of roasted malt smell. I'd go for Blue Label Ale personally. Many found the Lacto Milk Stout to be the most interesting beer (similar to Guinness). Stay away from Lowenbrau, it's toilet water. If you want other beer, Carslberg costs as much (brewed locally), Heineken is not at too much of a premium (imported) while Budweiser is acceptable too (bottled locally).
