Answers: Total myth. Ulcers are not caused by spicy foods or chile peppers. Yes, they can make life more uncomfortable for someone who has an ulcer, but they are not a root cause. Heredity can make one more prone to get an ulcer, and I believe there's a virus that is a common cause. Food? Not so much.

To the good, chile peppers are loaded with Vitamin C and can be helpful in lowering serum cholesterol. They're also might tasty, as you already know. So enjoy your chiles and hot sauce!
