What a good ideas for cheap and quick meals, besides mac and cheese?
Answers: What about a quesadilla? They're easy and filling, plus you can jazz them up if you want with other ingredients besides cheese if you have it.
Here's how I make a quick one for lunch (I know, who doesn't know how to make a quesadilla, you ask! But you never know.....)
Heat a large flour tortilla over the stove by turning it over the flame a couple times until it's hot. Place the open tortilla on a paper plate. Place a good handful of shredded cheese (or a couple of thick slices, doesn't have to be shredded) on one half of the tortilla, then fold it over so it's in a half circle.
Heat in the microwave for 30-45 seconds on High or until cheese is melted. Yum..........
You can add shredded chicken, or green chilies or salsa, whatever you have on hand. nothing that have murder a animal for. spagetti..

microwave dinners.. spending some money or no money? Hamburger helper rules! Manwich is pretty easy and cheap also. They're not as quick as mac and cheese though. tuna fish and noodles and its good for you too !!!! zatarains rice is a hamburger-helper type mix (add meat n water) but much more for the adult palate (nice n spicy) makes a great meal. also, you can buy a bag salad mix (with carrots, whatever already added in) and toss some baked chicken strips in from the toaster oven. also in summer, sometimes scrambled eggs for dinner is great, light, easy, and not too filling on a mega-hot day. also, cold-cuts and some store-bought macaroni or potato salad is quick n easy too! Romain noodles. Sometime you can get them on sale 12 for $1.00. It takes 3 minutes to boil in the hot water. Please let me know if you need easier or any cheaper than that. Chicken salad

You never really can get tired of chicken salad Baked potatoes are cheap, fast, and you can load all kinds of stuff on them ... leftover chilli, cheese, brocolli, hamburger, ANYTHING and they are pretty filling. Ramen noodles (you can add stuff to them, like veggies or leftover meat).
Spaghetti with sauce (skip the meat).
Potatoes, noodles, rice & dried beans are cheap & filling. wow!! I THINK IT HAS TO BE HAMBURGER HELPER OF COURSE!!! IT IS FAIRLY CHEAP AND EASY TO MAKE. PEANUT BUTTER IS ALSO GOOD FOR YOU. AND YOU CAN SUPPLEMENT THIS WITH THE HAMBURGER HELPER here is a good one i grew up with.
fix hamburger patties for however many you are cooking for (6/8 burgers are good) salt and pepper and garlic powder to taste. add one small onion, two cans of beef soup, one can of water, and one small can tomato sauce. simmer these ingredients together until you have a nice consistent gravy. eat with mashed potatoes using your sauce as gravy over the potatoes. it has become a favorite for everyone that i know that has ever eaten it.
