Where can we purchase lye for curing olives?

My grandmother cans olives but she has discovered that you can't purchase lye at the supermarket anymore. Any suggestions where it can be purchased in California?


Answers: From what I have found on the web, it seems that lye is getting more difficult for people to purchase (including those that make candles and soap), due to the misuse of it in the production of illegal drugs such as methamphetamines.
