Chicken Safety.?!

Question:

Chicken Safety.?

I took some pre cooked sainsburys chicken this morning (still in its plastic sealed container) I put it in a cool bag with a small cold ice pack at 6am. I just ate it (4:30pm), and although it wasnt warm it wasn't as cold it should be.

Will I be ill?

IT was in Date! (6 July) No. You were well within the safe range. While you don't want to do crazy things like leave it in a hot car sitting in the sun, those foods in a sealed container like that are fairly safe. Especially since it is a precooked food. um i dunno its chicken prob ok
why did the chicken cross the road? You are alive and well and doing fine.

You already ate it. Worry about something else.

Deep breath and all that jazz.

Perhaps a clairvoyant will come on here who can answer your burning questions of "will I be ill?" Because, and how do I put this delicately "HOW THE HELK DO WE KNOW?" You haven't said when you bought it/what the best before date was.

As it's pre-cooked though, I'm sure you'll be fine. Just don't stray too far from the toilet! ;-) you will probably be fine.... no... next time dont eat it cold time will tell. when in doubt-throw it out.dont eat it. you will know within the half hour. I have had food poison and you know it. usually prepacked precooked is loaded to the hilt with peservitives so you may be in luck i wish you well next time wrap it int foil and use more ice As long as the chicken was previously cooked to the proper temperature for killing salmonella, then you will be OK. I think you'll be ok because you said it wasn't as cold as it should be. To me that means it was still cool. I'm not familiar with sainsburys chicken, but I have frozen a lot of things for my lunch and then left them unrefrigerated. They usually are defrosted by the time I eat them. Another thing I have done is to freeze my beverage and then put it with my sandwich to keep it cold. This has always worked, but sometimes the beverage is not completely unfrozen by the time I want to drink it. Well if you are not sick by now i don't think you will get sick from it ever again lol. It should be ok as long as you heat it up properly. no you should be fine , you still kept the chicken chilled. it'll be fine. think about if you put it in a sarnie for lunch? I do that and keep it in my coat pocket till lunchtime. no probs. worse case senario food poisoning lasts 24 hours and kicks in after 12. really doubt it if it was cooked properly to begin with. The problems come with letting food cool and reheating more than once. Let's watch and see. No I don't think so.. If you're so worried about go to Walmart and get some medicine! ;)
