Does anyone have an innovative method to butter a bagel ?!

Question:

Does anyone have an innovative method to butter a bagel ?

I really like bagels, but, I really find it frustrating to butter it because of the hole in the middle. Do you have a method to butter a bagel that will ' Helpme ' ?

Answers: melt the butter blend it on high for 4 minutes, pour it into a CLEAN spray bottle and SPRAY the misted butter onto the bagles. i do this in the restaurants! Source(s):
i am a chef! Try brushing it with melted butter... other than that, I'd say you're just going to have to contend with the hole... Umm, steer around the hole. 1) Try using one of those "squeeze butters" out there (which I think are actually margarine, not butter).
OR
2) Cut a couple of little pats of butter off of the stick and place them on your bagel, place other warm 1/2 of bagel on top - allowing the warmth to melt the butter pats, give your bagel a twist and open, butter should be spread.

Hope this helps! Butter it with a knife around the hole. It's not a tough concept and it's kind of weird that such a simple task can cause so much stress. What the hell? I remember the shops used to have a squeezable butter in a bottle, not sure if it is still available though...
You could make your own. Use an old mustard bottle or something similar and soften/melt butter in the microwave and do some precision squeezing , avoiding the hole. :) LOL
Or you could just skip the bottle and soften some butter to make it easier to spread.
Or try drizzling olive oil, like I do. ( I'm trying to reduce my butter intake) Spicy chili & herb infused oil on a parmesan bagel is one of my faves. I buy the quart size Country crock and throw my bagel in it face down and Viola buttered, well...one...there is a bagel slicer. It is a plastic one. And two... you can cut ir in half and butter it. I mean. Not in half half, but around it. You know what I mean? And if you toast it...hmmm..I'm going for one.
