What do I do with oil after I've fried onion rings or french fries?
Answers: Let it completely cool down and then store it in an airtight container. If there is flour sediment from the oinion ring mix, you can filter it through a coffee filter in a funnel. Typically you can reuse the same oil 3 or 4 times.
Note: If you cook any type of meat (chicken, steak fingers, fish, etc.) in oil then you have to throw it out when you're done. Never re-use oil after cooking meat in it. Just pour it down the drain! you can use it ovr again... not so healthy but it tastes good... [im from the south get ovr it]
or you could dispose of it use it as bio-diesel Let it solidify and then throw it away. you put oil with the french fries while u fried them throw the oil out in the toilet. not the sink. it will clog it up.
and then throw out the onion rings and fries too. they're too unhealthy. can harden your arteries. Let it cool down and empty in a bottle or metal container and toss it out in the trash. Never throw grease down your drain. save it and reuse it later.
WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T PUT IT DOWN THE SINK OR THROW IT AWAY!!!!!!!!
that's bad for the environment. pour down drain, if eco concerned, mix a little drano or lye with first and will be harmless PUT IT INTO ANOTHER CLEAN CONTAINER,YOU CAN USE IT A FEW MORE TIMES,MAKE SURE THE OIL HAS COOLED.. Put it in a jar or similiar container with a lid and then out it in the trash. let it sit and cool down. then when it looks solid you can use it again or just dump it you can use it for a weed killer or for your car You can pour it down the sink and run hot water after it for about 10-15 minutes so it keeps the oil melted and dosent clog your sink.
Or you can pour it in an empty can and wait for it to cool, then throw it away later.
Or you can save it to reuse later. I save my empty coffee cans, pour the oil in after its cooled off and throw it away. Don't ever drump down the sink, it will stop up your pipes. do NOT pour it down the drain...
I usually double up 2 wal-mart bags and set them in the sink then pour the grease in there then throw it away Don't pour it down the sink!! You can either get an empty jar and put the oil in it or you can pour it in the grass in your backyard. Where I live the water company gives out containers for used cooking oil and you can drop off the oil there whenever it is full. They recycle the oil for other uses. If you have an old pop/beer can or canned veggie can, you can poor it in there, wait for it to solidify and thro it out. That's what I do. Or just leave it over night and it will solidify in the pot/fryer and you could scoop it into a garbage bag. Dont' leave it in trash for too long tho..eewww stinky!! Let it cool, skim off the larger particles, store it in a cosed container and use it again. Especially if you used it for onions rings, it will now have a flavor that it can impart to other foods fried in it. Once you have used it to deep fry mean, then you should dispose of it unless you are planning on reusing it within a day. Do not pour it down the drain it will wreck the septic system! If you have a fire pit or leaf burning pile, pour it in there. If not pour in an old coffee can or jar and throw away. just dont put it down the drain
throw it out in the garbage Get rid of it, or use it again , it wont be so healthy and it will have the tast of your onion rings and french fries ... it may even cause cancer...but that's up to you! you put it in a big kiddie pool and watch hot chicks in bikinis wrestle? Oil can be reused a few times, After frying, put a few peices of raw potatoe in the oil and fry em really good and dark, they absorb alot of the stuff floating around and makes the oil last longer. If you decide to pour it down the drain make sure you run cold water when pouring down, the cold water helps keep the oil from sticking to your pipes. Save the oil to re-use again for french fries or onion rings. The oil is good until it turns a dark brown color. After that throw it away.
Do not use the same oil to cook fish as the fish will taste funny however you can re-use oil saved from frying chicken cutlets for chicken cutlets or oil used for fish to fry fish again.
I would throw the oil away after 2-3 months of non-usage. We save and reuse ours as long as no meat was cooked in it and it is 'clean' meaning no floaters. In my opinion, throwing it away after the first use is a waste.
If it is no longer useable, let it cool and put it into something it cannot leak out of like a soda can or bottle, then toss it. you have to put it in a container it can clog your drain you can reuse it a couple of times. It's such a waste if you use it just once and throw it away. You need so much oil to deep fry if you use your oil for frying fries don't cook anything else with that oil only use it to fry fries in it or it will tast nsaty and you don't want that
