Why is ice cream on a stick sometimes refered to as a "cheerio"?!

Question:

Why is ice cream on a stick sometimes refered to as a "cheerio"?

Answers: a cheerio is a brand name bar or was during the depression. good humor made ice cream pop, ice cream on a stick, that sold for 10 cents durning the depression. In 1931 they came out with a new product called the cheerio that cost 5 cents to compete with Popsicles' 5 cent flavored ice pops. there was a battle of licencing going on the time invovling patents to products containing les then 4.5 % butter fatt blah blah blah check out this site if ou wanna know more http://www.archives.gov/publications/pro...
but basically it is just a type of bar made by good humor in the depression. and it stuck as an overall name for ice cream on a stick. Because thats what they call it. Its an arbitrary name. Its like why do they call ****, poop? I dunno I don't refereed my cheerio it's already been done. BEACAUSEE of god lol
