What are the bubbles made of in the Bubble Tea? ( pearls are what some people call it)?

im really curious what the bubbles are made of in the bubble tea


Answers:

They're little tapioca beads that are soaked in hot tea or other flavored liquid to make them colored and taste good. I think they're then stored in sugar syrup so they don't dry out, a friend makes them and keeps them in the fridge for 2-3 days. Any longer and they go mushy.
