Whats your favorite side dish for steak?
Just curious because I have been cooking them lately and need to change my sides.

potato bake... i guess you already doing lots of potato things though, maybe vary your steak cooking method..
one I love is marinate them (recipe is for 4 steaks, vary for how many you cook at once) in 1 cup red wine, 2 tbs honey, 2 cloves crushed garlic & 1.5 tbs dijon mustard, some pepper and a sprinkle of herbs of your choice.
12 spring onions, trimmed and sliced longways, cook first in pan, until soft then transfer to oven dish, drain the steaks (reserve marinade) then cook for one minute each side before putting steaks and spring onions in the (preheated 180c) oven for 10 mins (med-rare longer for medium or well), meanwhile put the marinade in the pan with 2 cups of chicken stock and simmer until reduced a little. Serve with steamed green beans, top with steak and spring onions, pour over sauce....
it's really yum, works best with eye or scotch fillet but could do with other cuts also.
