Aspartame..?!

Aspartame..?

I think that's how it's spelled.
Anyway, does it really cause cancer? I heard something like.. that when aspartame is broken down, it has formaldehyde, the stuff used to pickle dead organisms in laboratories.

I definitely know that it doesn't make you fat(ter), but I just want to know if it's medically harmful.

Some people still believe it has negative side-effects but there hasn't been any conclusive evidence yet. It appears to be safe but it's really up to you if you want to use it or not.
