Was there really cocaine in Coke? Im just wondering.?!

Question:

Was there really cocaine in Coke? Im just wondering.?

Answers:

Hi,

Ask Yahoo! answered this question a while back.

Once upon a time, Coca-Cola did contain trace amounts of cocaine. The soda was named for its two key ingredients -- coca leaves and kola nuts. "Coca leaves contain small amounts of cocaine."

Ask Yahoo! goes on to explain that "Coca-Cola used syrup from the coca leaves that probably introduced trace amounts of the active substance into the drink." Later, as concern about cocaine addiction grew in the United States, the Harrison Act of 1914 banned the substance from non-prescription products.

Today, I assure you, there is absolutely no cocaine in Coca-Cola. Sugar, on the other hand...
