Mainly when eating rice dishes.

Answers:

I've read that the reason is that the white rice is quikly absorbed into our bloodstreams, causing a blood sugar spike. About twenty minutes after eating it, as happens with all spikes, our blood sugar dramatically drops causing us to want food again. Sometimes we'll reach for that rice, which continues the cycle.

This won't happen if you order your food with brown rice when available. Or just cook some brown rice to go with your takeout.
