Why are Pickles so good?!

Question:

Why are Pickles so good?

i'm not much of a fan of cucumbers,
and i rarely use any type of vinegar for cooking,

yet,
cucumber + vinegar, water, salt = amazing.

??

Answers:

Calcium chloride is another key ingredient that isn't present in your everyday kitchen. It has an intensely salty taste, yet not the unpleasant saltiness of table salt (sodium chloride). Calcium ions also get into the pectin layers of the cucumber, making it more crunchy.
