How long does an uncut watermelon keep at home after purchase? Does it need to be refrigerated?

i manage a produce dept at a grocery so ive got a background on this one. the max we have a watermelon on the shelf is fourteen days and about a week anticipated shelf to the customer max after that. you dont need to worry about uncut refrig as long as its not unusually hot, but theyre kinda crappy warm so id recommend it.
