What's the difference between a Sauce and a Gravy?!

Question:

What's the difference between a Sauce and a Gravy?

I kind of think of them as the same. Although one is made from meat juices and other from vegetables/fruit. They're still an accompaniament, yeah?.

Answers:

Proper gravy is made from the drippings from an oven roasted meat.
Adding water and maize meal it already contains all the salt and flavoring from the eat.
A sauce, on the other hand is made separately from the meat dripping (fat).
Usually restaurants will offer a sauce and no a gravy as they grill the meat, and have therefor no access to the dripping. Sauces would be made from maize meal, or soup powder and the flavoring is usually artificial
