Hi, starving students here?
we cooked pasta and tuna (no mayo) two days ago, the pasta is fine but will the tuna be ok to eat? its been covered but not in the fridge.it smells, hmm distinctive but not necessarily bad. quick please...before i poison everyone
Answers:
Toss the tuna... it's been opened for a few days without any refrigeration.
Tuna is a low acidity food which can be a friendly environment for food poisoning pathogens (bacteria). Tainted foods don't necessarily have a distinctive smell so the sniff test can be deceiving.
