How are the vegetables in Cup O'Noodles safe to eat?!

Question:

How are the vegetables in Cup O'Noodles safe to eat?

I've had Cup O'Noodles twice in the last week and noticed that there are peas, carrots, and corn kernels inside this instant meal. However, I noticed that this product seems to not be "perishable." How does that work with these vegetables? The noodles I get, but the vegetables? Is this safe?

Answers:

The Cup O'Noodles are considered non-perishable food items because everything has been dehydrated. They also have a lot of salt in them. These two factors seriously inhibit decay and bacterial growth, kind of like how mummies are preserved.
