Do organic peanuts/peanut butter cause cancer?

I heard this, but simply cannot believe it! Do you all know anything about this?? I heard it was from some sort of mold.

Thank you for your submissions already...to the people that laughed, please do some research. So disrespectful to play the points game. To the person that responded that you get sick from the pesticides...they don't use those in organic foods, that what makes it organic, duh. Nice try.

Peanuts can contain aflatoxin, a byproduct of a mold, which can cause cancer with constant exposure. However, any peanut butter sold in the US will be spot-tested by the FDA to ensure that any aflatoxin is below dangerous levels. You're exposed to toxins constantly, after all, that's why you have a liver. Anything that's sold legally is unlikely to give you cancer unless you're eating a lot of it all the time.

It's open to debate if organic peanut butter is more likely than more processed peanut butter to contain aflatoxin; some claim that the "soft on mold" approach makes it more likely; others say that the more attentive processing gives the mold less time to form. "The exaggerated claims about greatly elevated levels of mycotoxin in organic foods on the internet or in news media have not been borne out by the peer-reviewed scientific literature." says the third link below.
