Fruit that is white with black specks?!

Question:

Fruit that is white with black specks?

Coming back from China, I was served a fruit that had white meat with small black specks, similar to a kiwifruit. The specks were throughout, though, and not centered on the middle. The taste was similar to kiwifruit as well.

What is the name of the thing?

Answers:

You had dragon fruit. It is a very mild tasting fruit from Asia with red skin. It is actually quite beautiful piece of fruit. You can get it in most Chinese/Asian style markets. Unfortunately, you won't find it in most stores. Some higher end markets might carry them, but they will be expensive--approximately $2 each because they are imported.

If you go to the following, it will have pictures of dragon fruit. Hope this helps.
