Techniques for buttering my popcorn?!

Question:

Techniques for buttering my popcorn?

I make popcorn often but I can never seem to get the butter evenly distributed, which is frustrating. I pour a little butter over it, shake it up, pour some more, shake it up, etc. But that doesn't seem to really work. What else can I do?

Answers:

I have an idea for you to try... (I've never done it. Let me know if it works.)

The problem I've experienced is the butter would soak into the popcorn and make it soggy in places. How about if you melt the butter and pour it into a light salt shaker (or something with little holes in it that's not too heavy). Put that in a paper bag full of popcorn and shake it up. I would think the butter would be slowly released and place a finer coat of butter on the popcorn.
