Can a cantaloupe with a bit of mold on one side still be eaten?!

Question:

Can a cantaloupe with a bit of mold on one side still be eaten?

I just bought it yesterday and noticed it has a slightly mushy bit on one side and starting green mold. I bought it from a huge grocery store just yesterday and it would be silly of me to take it back.

Answers:

Sure just cut all the rind off it, wash the knife and if there is any mold on the inside area, discard that. The rest will be fine.
Same with any other soft fruit, like strawberries, peaches ,plums, Necterines, bananas etc. Just cut out the bad spots and the rest is still good. Been doing it forever, and I'm still here.
