Is there a wine substitute I can use for Chicken Marsala?!

Question:

Is there a wine substitute I can use for Chicken Marsala?

I'd like to prepare that for dinner, but I'm out of Marsala, is there another type of wine I can use. I have almost every other kind on hand.

thank you.

Answers:

marsala is marsala. if you substitute it , it wont be marsala.

Te closest thing is either Sherry or a good port wine. Careful, though as some of them are a bit sweet.

If you want to get marsala flavor, you could mock it

with a pureed tomato, butter and a bit of brown sugar. Cook thethrree until thick. It should sub in OK
