Emu and Ostrich are by far the weirdest thing I've ever eaten, in my opinion. It's got a strong beefy, gamey flavor. I did not like it at all. It's like venison with a hint of something else that's distinctly bird. If you were to taste it blind, you'd know it was a birdish meat. It looks like beef, but a bit more tender. Not my favorite alternate meat, but very full of (different) flavors
Terrapin Soup is what people in the US would normally call "Turtle Soup" I am not a fan of this at all. Mine tasted a bit greasy, a bit fishy, and a bit medicinal. I do not recommend turtle soup. It was a weird experience.
Sea cucumber
It's basically a sea slug. I'm not even sure it classifys as a meat. It's gelatinous, it's a bit chewy if improperly cooked, but it is very tasty. It took me awhile to decide I was going to eat it, but after I did, it wasn't that bad after all. It's a lot like a savory konnyaku/jello dish. Usually with oyster sauce. The flavor and the texture is just wierd together.
Fish Head Curry
Fish head Curry is probably one of the best tasting "weird foods I've had". The fish head is big, the eye a bit smaller than a ping pong ball. The meat you eat is all around the fish head, around the jowls, in the joints, etc. The meat is very very tasty. It doesn't have the seafoody taste that's usually associated with fish, nor does it have the same texture. It's considerably firmer. The eye, even though it's a delicacy, is nothing to write home about. The cheek of the fish, though, that's the best part of the fish, much like the "oyster" in the back of poultry
