What's wrong wth my popsicles?!

Question:

What's wrong wth my popsicles?

i got a popsicle mold for my kids, the kind where you pour in the liquid and then stick in the plastic handles and freeze.

First I tried lemonade from a mix. When i pulled the popsicles out, all the flavor was at the tip (really strong and gross) and the rest was dilute tasting. So I figured I didn't mix it well enough, and the flavor had sunk to the bottom, which ends up being the tip when you pull it out.
So then I tried root beer from a can. I figured that had to be as well mixed as it was gonna get. I poured it into a glass and swirled it until all the fizz was gone, then I poured it in. After freezing, all the flavor was in one concentrated spot again.

i haven't used one of these things since I was a kid, but I don't remember them doing weird stuff like this. Is it the liquids I'm using? Is it my weird mold? Is it my freezer? Is it just me, am I an inadequate mom who can't even make popsicles? :-p

I just wondered if anyone else had this odd problem. Any suggestions as to why it may happen and what I can do to stop it from happening?

Answers:

Your a good mom. Relax. Ha ha ha

This is caused by two variables.

1) freezer is not cold enough

2) The Popsicle trays you are using, have a coating or film on the inside. Wash them and dry them thoroughly!

Things I have frozen in my Popsicle trays include :
Orange Juice
Lemonade
Cranberry Juice
Grape Juice

Good Luck!
