Answers:
Soak fruit and vegeatables that have been bought unwrapped, in a large bowl of water with 1/2 teaspoon of bleach, swirling around to mix, for 30 minutes.
Wash off watermelon, carrots and such with a stiff brush.
Bleach removes' pesticides.
Apples etc. with pesticides spray on them need a soap and water scrubbing with brush.
Frozen fish lasts' 3 months- Date it and prevent freezer burn by transfering all meat etc. into freezer conatainers.
Wax paper can be put in between slices of meat to prevent sticking.
NEVER DEFROST FOOD OUT ON A COUNTER-TOP--- THE OUTSIDE LAYER WILL SPOIL, WAY BEFORE THE INSIDE IS SOFT AND NOT ICEY
***If you soak your dishes in a sink, within one hour the water will be a microbrial soup of germs. Don't soak- rinse and put into dishwasher to wash later. Cover washed dishes in drainboard, as bugs and roaches and mice crawl all over them if not put away at night in the cupboards.
Put air-tight package in a large bowl and let cold water stream over it.
You can place a piece of meat back into the freezer to refreeze if it still has ice crystal covering it throughout.
Lunch meat only lasts' one week- you may not see or smell them, but millions of microbes are on it after this time. Wash hands thoroughly before touching it, and don't lay the contents on a counter- just take out one piece at a time.
Store eggs with the little end up
Put canned goods just bought in the back row, to rotate
Store nuts, flour, wheat germ and the like in frig, in tight containers.
Food lasts' longer on bottom shelf
Don't store dairy or mayonnaise on the door, it is not cold enough

Frozen things should be put on sides, bottom and top of freezer , which has it in contact with the sides, to freeze faster when you bring it home.
Leave spaces for air circulation in freezer.
Cover everything in frig- it will dry out and everything will get odors from other foods and smell like freon and be exposed to mold and airborn germs if not tightly covered
Milk and dairy products are good for teo weeks after the date on the package.
Turn yogurt and cottage cheese containers upside down to store as it will last longer.
If bread slice has one tiny piece of mold, must throw out the whole loaf.
Cheese can be sliced off one inch around (all sides) the mold and keep the other, in a clean new airtight bag, or cut into chunks and freeze in freezer bag to prevent further deterioration. (Wash hands when handling cheese and all food from frig)

ham and salty, fatty meats can last 2 weeks once opened
Flour and pasta and rice must be in air tight containers and used regularly to prevent staleness and bugs.
NEVER LET DOGS SET FOOT IN THE DINING-KITCHEN AREA,
AND CONFINE CATS AT NIGHT IN A SEPERATE ROOM, SO THAT THEY CANNOT JUMP UP ON TABLES AND COUNTERS WHERE FOOD IS LAID ON.
